People always say to move forward, but this year we're taking a few steps back. From crafts to hobbies to vintage fashion trends, 2025 is already chock-full of incredible blasts from the past. These are our favorite vintage trends that are making a comeback this year, and we bet some of them are your favorites, too!
Tweed Jackets & Preppy Pearls

Whether it’s the intrigue of Cruel Intentions or the comedy of Clueless, Y2K was obsessed with preppy style and little skirt suits. Think boxy pastel tweed coats and chunky pleated plaid skirts. Everyone lusted after Coco Chanel, and while the brand has had its ups and downs over the past few decades, its style inspo is still being felt in 2025.

Marinière Tops & Nautical-Inspired Fashion

Grab your navy whites and your boat-neck sweaters because nautical fashion is back and better than ever. Spring runways have served up cool twists on 50s and 60s nautical-inspired looks, and they’re trickling down to the rest of us.
Need some inspo? Peep Gene Kelly in his iconic blue and white striped marinière top and sailor cap in Anchors Aweigh.
Y2K Flared Jeans

We weren’t sure of much in the early 2000s, but we were ready to rock a pair of Pumas with our flared Mudd jeans. In true millennial fashion, Kendrick Lamar rocked a winning flared jeans and Nike sneaker combo that brought everyone back to 2003. The Y2K fashion rewind has been here for a while, and it’s not stopping anytime soon.

Juicy Couture…Everything

In the sage words of Eminem, “Guess who’s back, back again?” Juicy Couture.
Yup, that . Known for velour sweatsuits with saucy sayings on the back, Juicy Couture has taken Gen Z by storm. Thrift stores can’t get enough of the iconic 2000s brand, and neither can we.

Funky Y2K Haircuts & Style

Mullets are officially out and funky Y2K styles are in. Thanks to the rise of zig-zag parts, twists, and butterfly clips, Y2K haircuts are stomping the streets. Funky barrettes and butterfly clips aren’t for the kids anymore!

Slouchy 2000s Track Pants

You know what we really, really want? No, it’s not to zigazig ah. It’s for a pair of these Sporty Spice-tastic tracks pants all over social media.
Just walk the aisles of any ol' Target, and you’ll find a pair of track pants with an Addidas-inspired set of white stripes down the side. From added ribbons to extra-wide pant legs, these aren’t your Old Navy Addidas track pants, they’re something better.
Not sure where to start styling that sporty look? It’s time to revisit Spice World.
DIY Phone Charms

You can take the headphone jack out of the phone, but you can’t take the Y2K need to decorate your phone with some cute charms out of the phone owner. Phone charms were just one of the many ways we personalized our phones in the early aughts, and teens are discovering the wonder of these charms today.

Collecting Physical Media

Far more people remember having DVD, VHS, CD, LP, cassette, and book collections than don’t. Amazon’s recent decision to pull a fast one with purchased books on Kindle and removing the “download & transfer option” is just one in a long line of licensing issues.
In 2025, people are tired of spending money on things they don’t get to keep, and it’s led to a wonderful resurgence in collecting physical media. So, break out your massive CD binders from the backseat of your first clunker because we’re taking things back to analog.
Too young to have a kickstart on your own physical media collection? Head to your local thrift or consignment store for some low-price options.
The Future Doesn't Always Look Ahead

We've only had 2025 for a few months, and we can’t help but notice that we're looking to the past as a balm for our uncertain futures. Thankfully, there are decades and decades of awesome trends we can use to transform the rest of the year into whatever we want. The future is a choose-your-own-adventure, and we hope yours is as fun as ours.
